Bringing Liverpool History Back to Life…
Did you know? The Municipal Hotel Liverpool’s cast iron radiators date back to 1868. A Grade II listed challenge Built in 1862, the Municipal Building in Liverpool — today the Municipal Hotel Liverpool — is a Grade II listed masterpiece. Preserving its original features, including the cast iron radiators, was paramount to the hotel’s restoration project. Some of the radiators are circular and intricately designed, in keeping with the building’s Second Empire architecture and its French-influenced detailing. That made them a unique challenge: each one is one-of-a-kind, so any leak or imperfection couldn’t simply be fixed with a swapped-in part.…
