Description
The George Cast Iron Radiator Collection
The George cast iron radiator is the specialist of our range: a low, nine-column design that stands just 350mm tall and is every bit as deep — the pattern the trade has long nicknamed a “hedgehog” for its dense, deeply sectioned profile. It is the answer for rooms with deep, low-lying window sills, where a conventional radiator will not fit and an undersized one will not heat.
Low profile, deep output
- Nine columns, 350mm deep: what the George gives up in height it recovers in depth, producing 351 BTU/h per section at Δt50 (180 BTU/h at Δt30 for heat-pump systems) from a radiator that sits below sill height.
- 350mm tall, 58mm sections: add sections to match the run of wall or glazing you are heating — the sizing readout above shows output and dimensions for your exact length.
- Low inlets (70mm floor-to-inlet): pipework stays discreet and close to the floor.
Why they call it a hedgehog
Look along one and the nickname explains itself: nine tightly packed columns bristling back from the wall, all surface and almost no height. That surface is the whole point. Depth is what lets a radiator this short put out serious heat, which is why the pattern has always been specified for the awkward places — beneath deep sills and full-height glazing, along window seats, and in garden rooms where wall space runs out below the glass.
